Hugo Gumpenberger

Hugo Gumpenberger (born May 8, 1865 in Lichtenau im Mühlkreis , Upper Austria ; † December 4, 1941 there ) was a farmer and politician .

Life

Gumpenberger took over his parents' farm in Dammreith, was married and had nine children. Despite his advanced age, he still took part in the First World War and was awarded. Gumpenberger was mayor of his home town for many years and had made a name for himself in founding the volunteer fire department. From 1922 to 1925 he was a member of the state parliament for the Christian Social Party .
