Hugo Herold

Hugo Herold (born February 21, 1880 in Ellefeld , † April 17, 1945 in Dresden-Bühlau ) was a German composer .

Herold lived in Saxony and already presented his first own compositions before the First World War . He set numerous poems to music, published music textbooks and collections of songs and wrote the music for several plays. After the Second World War , some of his compositions were banned in the Soviet occupation zone and in the GDR and no longer performed in public.
