Otto student
Otto Schüler (* 1901 ; † 1974 ) was a Vogtland dialect poet .
The pupil came from Ellefeld and wrote numerous poems, stories and pieces from home (for example "Derhamm im Vugtland") in the dialect of his homeland. Some of his works were set to music by the Saxon composer Hugo Herold and distributed on song postcards by Sachsenverlag, branch in Plauen after the end of the Second World War, which made them relatively widespread. His main works include Vogtlandheimat darut und schön , Wiegnlied , Kliegendlied and Drehtormlied .
Student was paralyzed early.
Honors
The elementary school in Ellefeld and today's middle school in Falkenstein / Vogtl. bears his name today.
