Hugo II (French: Hugues II ; † probably after 1119 ) was a Count of Saint-Pol from the House of Candavene .

Hugo succeeded his older brother, Guido I, as Count of Saint-Pol around 1078. Together with his eldest son, he took part in the first crusade in the wake of Count Robert II of Flanders . Wilhelm of Tire names both when they were taken on the cross in 1096 and when they were sieged at Antioch in 1098. Albert von Aachen reports of the son's death during the siege of Maarat an-Numan .

After Hugo returned from the holy land, he began a long-standing feud against his liege lord Count Baldwin VII of Flanders . In 1117 Saint-Pol was conquered by the Count of Flanders, whereupon on the mediation of Count Eustachius III. a peace was made by Boulogne . He resumed war against Count Charles the Good from 1119, but this led to the destruction of Saint-Pol.

Before 1061 Hugo married Hélissende, a daughter of Count Enguerrand II von Ponthieu and niece of William the Conqueror . Your children were:

  • Enguerrand († 1098 near Maarat an-Numan)
  • Hugo III Campdavene († 1145 or later), Count of Saint-Pol
