Hugo René Rodríguez Corona (born March 14, 1959 in Torreón , Coahuila ) is a former Mexican football player who was mostly used in midfield and occasionally in attack .

Life

Rodríguez began his professional career in the 1975/76 season at his home club CF Laguna , where he stayed until the latter's retirement from professional football at the end of the 1977/78 season. The club had sold its first division license to Deportivo Neza and Rodríguez played with this club in its first division season 1978/79 before moving to CF La Piedad and again a year later to Club Atletas Campesinos . Only with Deportivo Toluca did he find an employer again, with whom he was under contract for several years.

National team

Born Lagunero, he played in two games for the Mexican national team against El Salvador (5-1) on February 15, 1978 and Bulgaria (3-0) on April 4, 1978. He was also part of the Mexican World Cup squad in 1978 , but had to be content with the role of reservist.
