Hugo Roller
Hugo Roller (born May 13, 1907 in Ulm ; † January 7, 1990 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).
biography
Roller, a trained plumber, was district secretary of the Ulm workers' welfare after the Second World War . From 1945 he worked as a youth secretary in Ulm.
politics
He was active in the SAJ until 1933 , joined the SPD and was chairman of the local SPD association in Ulm from 1950 to 1970. In 1946 he became a city councilor in Ulm. Here he campaigned for the foundation of the engineering school and the university. From 1950 to 1952 he was a member of the state parliament of Württemberg-Baden . He was then elected to the Baden-Württemberg state parliament, to which he was a member until 1956 and again from 1960 to 1964.
Honors
- He was awarded the Marie Juchacz plaque from the Arbeiterwohlfahrt in 1972.
- 1974 he received the citizen medal of the city of Ulm,
- In 1981 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.
- The Hugo-Roller-Weg in Ulm was named after him.
