Hugo Rupf

Hugo Rupf (born August 12, 1908 in Poppenweiler ; † January 27, 2000 in Heidenheim an der Brenz ) was a German industrial manager .

Life

Rupf attended grammar school and completed a bank apprenticeship in Biberach an der Riss . He then began studying business administration and economics in Frankfurt am Main , where he became a member of the Corps Frisia in 1928. In 1932 he finished his studies as a business graduate with a distinction. His professional career took him to the JM Voith machine factory in Heidenheim. Rupf played a significant role in the company's rise to an international group of companies with plants in Germany, Austria, Brazil, Spain, India and the USA. He was chairman of the foreign trade committee of the Association of German Mechanical and Plant Engineering (VDMA) , member of the main board and in 1971 its president. At the same time he was Vice President of the Federation of German Industries for six years .

After leaving the management, Rupf was Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Voith. He was also chairman of the supervisory board of Robert Bosch GmbH in Stuttgart, Deutsche Continental-Gas-Gesellschaft in Düsseldorf, Effectenbank Warburg AG in Frankfurt am Main and Salamander AG in Kornwestheim as well as chairman of the shareholders' committee of BOGE GmbH in Eitorf. He was also a member of the supervisory boards of Commerzbank AG , Mannesmann AG in Düsseldorf and Hermes Kreditversicherungs AG in Hamburg.

Rupf was an honorary citizen of the cities of Biberach an der Riss and Heidenheim, honorary senator of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and an honorary member of the presidium of the Heidenheim-Aalen Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
