Huh Su-kyung or Ho Su-gyeong (* 1964 in Jinju , Kyŏngsangnam-do ; † October 3, 2018 in Germany) was a South Korean poet, writer and archaeologist.

Life

Huh Su-kyung studied Korean language and literature at Gyeongsang National University from 1987 . In the same year she made her debut with the literary magazine "Literatur für die Praxis" (Silch'ŏn munhak) as a poet with poems, a. a. Hot rays of the sun . In volumes of poetry, Huh Su-kyung published Where is there better manure than sadness , The distant house where I go alone , Though my soul is old .

The prose volume Das Chinarestaurant in der Gasse and the novel Sandstadt followed . In 2001 she received the Tongsŏ Literature Prize.

In 1992 she moved to Germany and began to study Near Eastern antiquity and ancient Near Eastern philology there. She continued to write poetry and short stories. A total of six volumes of poems by her appeared during her lifetime.

In 2003 she married the archaeologist Reinhard Dittmann . She died in October 2018 at the age of 54 from complications from gastric cancer .
