Hultsfredfestival
The Hultsfredfestival is a music festival that has been taking place every year since 1986 in mid-June / early July on five stages in the city park of the Swedish town of Hultsfred . The festival was organized by the Rockparty company in the early years and has since become Sweden's largest music festival with over 30,000 visitors .
The 25th edition of the festival in July 2010 was canceled a week before the start and Rockparty went bankrupt. The festival was then sold to the FKP Scorpio agency from Hamburg, which first organized the festival in July 2011. Only 10,500 tickets were sold that year.
In March 2013 the organizer FKP Scorpio decided to hold the festival under the motto Hultsfred goes Stockholm! to take place in 2013 in the municipality of Sigtuna . Ticket sales had been very sluggish up until then and it is hoped that the proximity to Stockholm will improve the ticket sales. In agreement with the municipality of Hultsfred, the name Hultsfredfestival will be retained for the time being.
A counter-initiative under the name This is Hultsfred , on the other hand, tries to keep Hultsfred as the venue of the festival with its own event.
