Humanism today is a foundation of the state of Baden-Württemberg to promote the maintenance and transmission of the cultural heritage of antiquity . The board currently (in 2017) consists of the Minister of Education , Susanne Eisenmann , and the managing director, Bernhard Zimmermann .

In particular, the foundation runs the state competition for ancient languages and a theater competition on ancient theater endowed with the Gerhard Storz Prize . It also awards the Günter Wöhrle Prize for the promotion of young scientists for outstanding scientific achievements, especially dissertations in the areas of " Ancient Cultures ", " Ancient Languages " and Classical Studies .
