Penske PC3
The Penske PC3 was used by Penske Racing in 1975 and 1976 in the Formula 1 World Championship .
The Penske PC3 was an interim solution. When it became apparent that the Penske PC1 was a bad design, the Penske team purchased a March 751 . The car was adapted with parts of the Penske PC1. The rear suspension, transmission and engine were carried over from the PC1. The PC3 was not much more successful than its predecessor.
Mark Donohue made his debut with the car at the Great Britain Grand Prix in Silverstone in 1975 and retired after a spin in the rain. A few weeks later, Donohue had his fatal accident with the PC3 at the Österreichring . A PC3 was awarded to Boy Hayje from the Netherlands , who won the Dutch Grand Prix with it . The best racing result with the PC3 was achieved by John Watson at the 1976 Grand Prix of South Africa with fifth place overall. From the Swedish Grand Prix, the PC3 was replaced by the PC4 , with which Watson achieved some top results and even won the Grand Prix in Austria .
