HumHub is a social network software and is available under the open source AGPL license . It is based on the PHP framework Yii and positions itself as a tool for creating your own social networks for internal corporate communication and collaboration. The appearance of HumHub is tidy, minimalistic and is partly based on Facebook.
HumHub can be installed by yourself or hosted by the manufacturer as Software as a Service (SaaS). An Enterprise Edition is offered that contains special functions relevant to companies and is under the HumHub Commercial License . This license allows you to program extensions without having to pass them on to the community, as required by the license conditions of the free version.
HumHub was originally developed by the Munich web agency zeros + ones and became an independent spin-off at the end of February 2015 .
service
HumHub is installed on a web server and used with a web browser . Apart from a browser, no additional software is required for use and thanks to the responsive design , a native app for mobile devices is not necessary. At HumHub, usage is concentrated around the individual groups, called “Spaces”, which a user can join. The functionality of these can be retrofitted with additional modules and extensions. There are modules for calendars, a wiki or a Dropbox connection for data exchange.
