Hummock Island (from English hummock 'ice hill' ) is a 1.5 km long island in the group of Biscoe Islands west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is 6.5 km west of Larrouy Island and 8.8 km from Ferin Head .
The island was discovered and named descriptively during the British Graham Land Expedition (1934–1937) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer John Rymill .
