The Biscoe Islands are a chain of islands , which are about 30 km distance over a length of 135 kilometers, parallel to Graham Land in West Antarctica stretches (stretches of coastline Graham Coast in the north and Loubet Coast to the south) and from there through the Grandidier Channel separated is. In the north it is separated from the Wilhelm Archipelago by the Southwind Passage . To the south, Matha Strait separates the Biscoe Islands from Adelaide Island .

The six main islands of the group are Renaud Island , Rabot Island , Lavoisier Island (called Serrano Island from Chile and Miter Island from Argentina), Krogh Island , Watkins Island and Belding Island . Other notable islands and archipelagos of the Biscoe Islands are the Adolph Islands , the Barcroft Islands , Bates Island , Bazett Island , the Bernal Islands , the Büdel Islands , Clements Island , Cornet Island , Decazes Island , DuBois Island , the Extension Reef , The Guard Islands , Guile Island , the Hardy Rocks , the Hennessy Islands , Holmes Island , Hook Island , Horvath Island , the Huddle Rocks , the Karelin Islands , Lacuna Island , Laktionov Island , Milnes Island , the Palosuo Islands , the Pitt Islands , Schule Island , the Symington Islands , the Trivial Islands , the Vieugué Island , the Meadow Islands , Wittmann Island and Woolpack Island .

The archipelago was discovered in 1832 by the English ship's captain John Biscoe . The Biscoe Islands are occasionally combined with the Adelaide Island and smaller offshore islands (including Liard Island ) to form the Adelaide and Biscoe Islands .
