The Trivial Islands are a group of small islands west of the Antarctic Peninsula . They belong to the Biscoe Islands archipelago and are 2.5 km east of Lacuna Island and 11 km north of Vieugué Island .
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey mapped them using aerial photographs taken by Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd. made from 1956 to 1957. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it that way in 1959, because it said the islands are "small, barren and uninteresting".
