The Vieugué Island ( French Île Vieugué ) is a 5 km long island in the archipelago of the Biscoe Islands west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 1.5 km northwest of Duchaylard Island and 17.5 km west-northwest of Cape García on the west side of the Grandidier Canal .
They were discovered by participants in the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903-1905) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot . Charcot named it after the French diplomat Paul Antoine Charles Vieugué, former charge d'affaires in Buenos Aires .
