The Liard Island ( English Liard Island , Spanish isla Liard ) is a largely ice-covered island west of Graham Land in Antarctica . It is located between the Antarctic Peninsula and Adelaide Island , from whose coast it is less than 10 kilometers away. Politically, it is now in the Argentine , British and Chilean Antarctic territories , but these claims have been suspended since the Antarctic Treaty came into force .
The 232.9 km² island is mountainous, its highest peak, Mount Bridgman , reaches a height of around 1200 meters, according to other information 1000 meters or 914 meters. In the north of the island lies the approximately 1000 m high Glen Peak .
