The Humpeltreppe is a listed alley in Alsleben (Saale) in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

It is located as Straße Stiege in the southern part of the historic Alsleber old town and descends from Burgstraße in a north-easterly direction to Fischerstraße .

Architecture and history

The alley is designed as a narrow staircase and dates from the 18th century. It is paved with limestone and has 14 steps in its upper part and 11 steps in the lower part. In the middle there is a stepless ramp over the entire length of the stairs, which is supposed to have been created to transport beer kegs . The adjoining buildings are mostly two-story and belong to Burgstrasse or Fischerstrasse.

In the monument register for Alsleben (Saale) , the alley is registered as a monument under registration number 094 60827 .
