Dog biscuits are made from wheat or corn grits and meat mass , similar to dry food , often enriched with minerals and vitamins .

history

The first dog biscuits were developed by James Spratt from 1863 , from 1880 in Germany by Johannes Kühl with his German dog biscuit factory and, for example, by Albert Latz around the beginning of the 20th century .

use

Dog biscuits are often, but not always, fed to dogs and are used as a feed additive. Allegedly they also strengthen the chewing muscles and prevent tartar .

In common parlance, they are also called dog biscuits, dog biscuits or treats . This type of feed also increases the need for water that is kept available to meet daily fluid needs.
