Huntingdonshire and Peterborough was a county in England for a number of years .

It was formed in 1965 by the merger of the Soke of Peterborough and Huntingdonshire - both very small counties - to make it a viable administrative unit. This attempt was deemed a mistake and the area became part of Cambridgeshire in 1974 .
