Ulrich von Hutten's Circle of Friends

The Freundeskreis Ulrich von Hutten is a right-wing extremist association with around 280 members based in Starnberg . The name of the organization refers to the humanist Ulrich von Hutten , who was considered an idol by the National Socialists .

history

The Freundeskreis was founded in February 1982 in Starnberg by former Wehrmacht General Otto Ernst Remer, who had been convicted of hatred several times, and Lisbeth Grolitsch , co-founder of various right-wing extremist organizations, and is still active. On June 11, 1982 it was registered as an association . The organization is observed by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution as a right-wing extremist . The Bavarian State Office for the Protection of the Constitution classifies the organization as a right-wing extremist organization whose activities are generally limited to internal events that have little external impact . The organization has 280 members, 30 of them in Bavaria .

The group was or is personally connected to other nationalist associations such as the German Cultural Association (DKG), the Notgemeinschaft für Volkstum und Kultur (NG) and the German Cultural Association Austria and maintained contacts with the Nationalist Front and the Wiking Youth .

The organization also attracted some media attention through a performance by the conductor Rolf Reuter , who on May 13, 2006, together with Lisbeth Grolitsch, opened a “singing leader course” of the Ulrich von Hutten group of friends and on this occasion two lectures entitled Das deutsche Volkslied als Mutterboden der Hochkultur and Anton Bruckner and the German people's soul held in front of the neo-fascist organization.

Huttenbriefe

The group publishes the magazine "Huttenbriefe - für Volkstum, Kultur, Truth und Recht", which appears six times a year and which is also published on the Internet. The magazine was founded in 1982 by Remer and Grolitsch. Since Remer's death, both the management of the organization and the editing of the magazine were with Grolitsch until its death in July 2017. In addition to Grolitsch, authors are or were Herbert Schweiger , Lothar Greil and Hans Werner Bracht . Place of publication for Germany is Stockstadt am Main and for Austria Graz . The editors and editors are also based in Graz. The magazine now has a circulation of 4,000 copies.
