Willard Huyck
Willard Miller Huyck (born September 8, 1945 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American director , producer and screenwriter .
Life
Huyck made his debut as a screenwriter in 1969 with the film Die Teuflische Acht . Four years later he made a second appearance in the film business and made his debut as a director with the film Messiah des Bad , which he also produced and wrote the screenplay himself. In 1973 he worked for the first time with George Lucas on the film American Graffiti . For the script they wrote together, they were nominated for an Oscar in 1974 together with Gloria Katz , Huyck's wife since November 25, 1969 . In 1975 Huyck was involved in the screenplay for the film comedy Adventurer on the Lucky Lady , in 1979 he directed Who is still going to university? his second film as a director. For his screenplay for the 1984 adventure film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom , Huyck was nominated for a Saturn Award in 1985. Huyck then directed the war film Attack is the Best Defense , again based on his own script, based on a novel by Robert Grossbach. In 1986 there was another cooperation with George Lucas. Huyck directed the film Howard - Ein Tierischer Held , produced by this company , which is his last directorial work to date. In 1987 he was awarded the Golden Raspberry for the script he wrote himself . In 1989 the television film Mothers, Daughters and Lovers was made , Huyck wrote the screenplay for it and was also involved in the project as executive producer. Five years later, the script for Radioland Murders followed , and in 2008 he wrote the script for Secrets of a Hollywood Nurse , a television film.
