Hyva is a Dutch manufacturer of hydraulics for commercial vehicles . The company produces hydraulic systems (cylinders, tipping systems and wet kits), container handling systems (hooklifts and skip loaders), lifting technology (body and roller cranes) and solutions for the environmental service sector. The company also sells additional transport solutions such as horizontal sliding platforms and cover systems.

Hyva is headquartered in Alphen aan den Rijn in the Netherlands and has twelve production facilities in nine locations in Europe (Germany and Italy) and in Asia (China and India) and America (Brazil) and has subsidiaries in 31 countries in Europe and Asia , North and South America, the Middle East and Africa. The company employs 3,800 people worldwide. Hyva uses the brand names Hyva and Kennis .

history

Hyva (the name is a combination of “hydraulic” and “Vaandrager”) was founded in 1979 by Jaap Vaandrager and his eight co-founders in Alphen aan den Rijn in the Netherlands. A year later, the network was expanded with Hyva France and Hyva Belgium, the first two subsidiaries. In 1991 Hyva took over the roller crane company Kennis and opened the first branch outside Europe in Malaysia. In 1995 Hyva Brazil opened its first factory outside of Europe in Caxias do Sul. After years of expansion with new production facilities and subsidiaries, the company opened a production facility in China in 2004. From 2005 to 2013, Hyva continued to develop the company's presence on different continents, opening new subsidiaries and factories in the USA, Australia, Mexico, Romania, Hungary, India, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates and Singapore. In 2018 the company founded Hyva Nordic to represent Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

Production and Products

At Hyva, production is spread across twelve production sites around the world: four in India (in Navi Mumbai, Jamshedpur, Bangalore and Pune), two in Italy (both in Poviglio), one in Germany (in Olbersdorf), three in China ( one in Yinbao and two in Yangzhou), and two in Brazil (both in Caxias do Sul). Hyva manufactures products in 4 main business areas.

In 2017, the company exceeded the limit of 2,000,000 cylinders produced worldwide. Hyva also plays an important role in the truck and trailer mounted loader crane and container handling solutions market.
