I "s ( Japanese ア イ ズ aisu ) is a completed manga series by the Japanese illustrator Masakazu Katsura , who among other things also wrote Video Girl Ai . Sixteen-year-old Ichitaka goes to Wanda High School and has been in love with his classmate Iori since he first saw her. When Iori appears in a magazine in a bathing suit, other boys at his school are drawn to the girl too. Ichitaka and Iori , who take part in the school's theater group in their free time, are supposed to work alone as class representatives, which initially pleases him. When he and Iori are alone, however, he becomes nervous and cannot express himself. So after a while, the popular but rather shy Iori thinks that Ichitaka even hates her.

His best friend and classmate Teratani Yasumasa tries to help him all the time, but most of the time he doesn't succeed. Suddenly, Ichitaka's elementary school friend Itsuki , who lived in the USA for several years , also appears . Even after countless attempts to confess his love to Iori , he fails again and again and so a friendship slowly builds up between the two, which gives Ichitaka the courage and support not to give up.
