Life

He made his debut in 1981 with Tenkōsei wa Hensōsei !? in the manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump issue 32/1981, for which he won the Tezuka Award of the magazine in the same year . He had great success with Wingman , but it wasn't until his next work, Video Girl Ai , a romantic story with beautiful girls, that he changed his drawing style, which eventually gave him his breakthrough and earned him the nickname Master of Curves .

He is a big Batman fan, which is particularly evident in the series Shadow Lady , in which the young, inconspicuous Aimi Komomori becomes the Shadow Lady, a daring and flirtatious facade climber and burglar, at night.

After the romantic comedies I "s and Video Girl Ai , his latest work Zetman , which is based on motifs from Batman, is significantly darker and more violent.

In Japan his works appear in the Shueisha publishing house and in its magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump .

So far DNA² , Video Girl Ai , I "s and Shadow Lady have been published in German by Carlsen Verlag, Hamburg.

Masakazu Katsura's works Video Girl Ai , DNA² , I "s" and Zetman were also adapted as animes .
