Education

Pírfano learned solfeggio , piano and harmony while studying philosophy , which he finished at the Universidad Complutense Madrid. In 1997 he entered the ' Mozarteum ' University of Music and Performing Arts in Salzburg , where he studied orchestral, choir and opera conducting with Karl Kamper . There he obtained his diploma in music conducting. He deepened his studies with Sir Colin Davis in Dresden and with Karl-Heinz Bloemeke and Kurt Masur in Detmold.

In June 1998 he conducted the summer concert of the Mozarteum at Schloss Frohnburg, where he not only interpreted works by Stravinsky and de Falla , but also premiered works by young composers from the seminar for new music from this school.

In 1998 he was commissioned as a composer to compose, orchestrate and conduct the soundtrack for the feature film “El Sudor de los Ruiseñores”. In 2004 he was commissioned to compose the official music for the 400th anniversary "Don Quixote de la Mancha 2005".
