Išorai is a village with 475 inhabitants (as of 2011) in Lithuania . It is located in the district of Užusaliai in which jonava district municipality , district Kaunas in Lithuania. It is located on the A6 trunk road, 10 km southwest of the town of Jonava . It is the center of the Išorai sub-district. There is a library.
history
In 1744 the village was first mentioned in a document. Around 1895 there were Old Orthodox . They formed the Rimkai community . In 1905 they built the Išorai Orthodox Church . In 1937 there were 386 people in the parish. In 1944 the church was damaged. in Soviet Lithuania it was closed. From 1958 to 1963 the village was the center of the Sviloniai settlement , from 1950 to 1992 it was an optional settlement of sovkhoz in Kalnėnai . There has been a primary school since 1993 .
