IFO
IFO (Identified Flying Objects) is the joint project of WestBam and Afrika Bambaataa , founded in 1997.
Africa Bambaataa and WestBam
Bambaataa is an important role model for the Berlin DJ WestBam (" West falia Bam baataa"). His voice can already be heard on WestBam's album “The Cabinet” (1989) as the introduction to the track “The Wall”. Afrika Bambaataa has been a regular guest at the Berlin Love Parade since the 1990s and plays at parties like the Love Nation or the Electric Kingdom Specials, and in 1997 he made his appearance at the Victory Column .
He is said to be a co-founder of the label Electric Kingdom , where, in addition to himself and WestBam, Hardy Hard , Afrika Islam , Lexy & K-Paul , DJ ICON and many other artists bring out their electro records.
"Agharta, The City Of Shamballa"
Together with the record “Free Me” by WestBam and Afrika Islam (together as Mr. X & Mr. Y ) “Agharta, The City of Shamballa” by IFO is one of the first releases of the record label founded in the late 1990s. The record is published internationally, including with Mute. It comes out as an original, as a Technolectro -Mix and is said to be circulating as a remix in a very rare edition .
The video is about a scientifically unconfirmed subterranean life that reports are piling up. Progressive environmental pollution and the approaching new millennium , expected by many with different fears, play a role , which Bambaataa addresses in other records of this time for religious reasons. A scary location in the new federal states was chosen as the location for the video. In the video, a gloomy vision of the future, a group of people wanders around on a devastated and contaminated mother earth . Mysterious research suggests that the earth no longer seems to save. Afrika Bambaataa and WestBam show them the way to Shamballa, a kind of underground paradise.
