Millennium

A millennium (abbreviated Jt. , Jtd. , Jtsd. Or Jahrt. ) Or Millennium (from Latin mille , 'thousand' and annus 'year') is a period of one thousand years .

Since the Christian calendar does not recognize year zero , the first millennium of Christian calendar began with January 1st in year 1 and ended after exactly a thousand years with December 31st in year 1000. Accordingly, the second millennium began and ended on January 1st, 1001 on December 31, 2000. The third millennium began on January 1, 2001 and will end on December 31, 3000. The same applies to the time before the birth of Christ: The first millennium BC. Began with January 1st in the year 1000 BC. And ended with December 31st in the year 1 BC. Chr. Etc.
