IBM RAD6000
The IBM RAD6000 is on a 32-bit -based RISC - microcontroller by the American company of IBM specifically for use in space vehicles was developed. Among other things, it is used in the Mars Pathfinder and DAWN missions. The semiconductor technology used reduces the likelihood of errors occurring due to single event effects .
The maximum clock rate is specified with 33 MHz, the processing speed with 35 MIPS . The chip is manufactured with a structure size of 500 nm and, depending on the clock rate, consumes 2.5 to 20 watts at a voltage of 3.3 volts. VxWorks is the preferred operating system , with development environments for C and Ada available.
