IBM System x
The IBM System x is the last x86 -based line of servers from IBM . In the course of 2006, all IBM server lines were renamed. xSeries products have been operating under the System x brand since then. In early 2000, the xSeries replaced the old Netfinity server series from IBM.
Under the System x label , IBM only sold servers based on CPUs from Intel and now also from AMD . The portfolio ranged from the simple 1 CPU server, which only takes up one height unit in the rack, to the 32-way system.
After Lenovo took over the x86 server division from IBM (2014), the IBM models were sold under the name of Lenovo.
In 2019, the IBM System x series was finally replaced by the Lenovo Thinksystem.
