IEC 61800-7

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The IEC 61800-7 is an international standard for a universal interface for a drive with variable speed, entitled "Generic interface and use of profiles for power drive systems". It is issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). In the standard, this abstract, universal interface is mapped to four different drive profiles and these in turn are mapped to different communication profiles of fieldbuses and industrial Ethernet .

The IEC 61800-7 standard thus has three parts:

  1. 61800-7-1: In the first part, a generalist model of a drive and the mapping of the individual drive profiles on this model is shown.
  2. 61800-7-20x: In a second part, the functions and parameters of the individual drive profiles are defined. There are therefore 4 sub-parts of this part, one for each drive profile. This makes these guidelines or standards part of a norm.
  3. 61800-7-30x: In the third part, the four drive profiles are mapped onto the 11 communication profiles. Existing communication standards are referenced.
