IFK Tumba Handboll

IFK Tumba Handboll (IFK = Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna ) is a Swedish handball club from Tumba .

The association was founded in the autumn of 1970 by twelve female Alfa Laval employees. In the season 1974/75 the club had 13 teams, in the following season 17; in the tenth year of existence, the club has 24 teams. Between 2011 and 2014, the IT company Caperio was the club's main sponsor. During this period, the first women's and men's team came under the name Caperiotumba .

Ladies team

In the 1972/73 season, the first women's team won Division 5 and rose to Division 4. 1983/84 the team rose to Division 2, which they win in 1987/88 and 1988/89. In 1991/92 the team was relegated to Division 3. 1998/99 they played again in Division 1 norra . In the summer of 2012, the team was promoted to the Elitserien . A year later, however, the move to the second class followed.

Men's team

The first men's team started in the 1973/74 season in Division 6. In 1975/76 they were promoted to Division 5, 1976/77 in Division 4 and 1979/80 in Division 3, from which they were in 1980/81 descend again. In 1981/82, after winning Division 4, the men's team was able to move up directly to Division 2 thanks to a change in the league system, which they even won in 1982/83; However, the team failed to qualify for promotion to the next higher division. Also in 1983/84, the rise in the qualification is missed. In the 1984/85 season, he was promoted to Division 1 ; in the 1992/93 season the team had to relegate to Division 2. In 1993/94 they rose again. 1997/98 the team rose after a dramatic game against HF Kroppskultur in the top division, the Elitserien , from which they, however, relegated again after one season. In 1999 the team rose again to the Elitserien, but also rose again in the second season in the top division immediately. However, the team succeeded in the 2000/01 season by a second place again the promotion from the Allsvenskan to the Elitserien.

After the 2008/09 season, the team rose again from the Elitserien. In the summer of 2011, the return to the Elitserien succeeded, but the team did not succeed in the following season to keep the class.
