Division 1 (handball)
The Division 1 is a Division in the Swedish handball . It is organized by the Swedish handball association Svenska Handbollförbundet .
Division 1 is held for men and women in the leagues Norra (German: North) and Södra (German: South) with twelve teams each. The first place goes directly to the higher league. The teams in places 2 and 3 play in the relegation with those placed in places 11 and 12 of the respective higher league.
Men
In men's handball, the Swedish Division 1 is the third highest division after the Elitserien i handboll för herrar and the Allsvenskan .
