IF Boltic
IF Boltic was a sports and bandy club from the Swedish city of Karlstad , Värmland .
The association was founded in 1946. In the early days, the club had not only bandy but also departments for football and handball.
The name results from the interest of some club members in English football . The beginning and end of the favorite teams Bolton and Celtic then formed the name Boltic.
IF Boltic played his first season in the highest Swedish bandy league ( Bandyallsvenskan ) 1976/1977.
In the 80s the club was the dominant team in the Bandyallsvenskan. Between 1979 and 1988, the men's team won the Swedish bandy championship eight times . The women's team was also able to become Swedish champions six times in the 1980s. Some successes could also be celebrated internationally.
In the 1990s, the club was no longer so successful, but they still won the Swedish championship (men) and the World Cup (men) twice.
IF Boltic's team played their home games at Tingvalla Isstadion .
