history

IF Tunabro was founded in 1960 as a football club. The ice hockey department was created a year later. From 1971 to 1974 the ice hockey team competed in Division 1, which was still first-class at the time. From 1975 to 1977 IF Tunabro played in the now second-class Division 1. Due to the great competitive situation in ice hockey in Borlänge - the other two higher-class clubs were Kvarnsvedens GoIF and IK Rommehed - there were early plans to merge them. Following the 1976/77 season , the ice hockey department of IF Tunabro and the Kvarnsvedens GoIF merged to form Borlänge HC. The IK Rommehed followed four years later. The joint team now plays as Borlänge HF in the third-class Division 1.

IF Tunabro is a member of the Dalarnas Fotbollförbund . The team has taken part in the Swedish Men's Football Cup four times .
