The IHC Neuss was a manufacturer of agricultural machinery , their work was on the grounds of Neuss city harbor . It was one of the most important employers in Neuss . It was a subsidiary of International Harvester . At first , devices manufactured in the United States were sold.
history
On December 31, 1908, the company was founded and property in the port area was acquired. At first , equipment manufactured in the United States was sold until the production of agricultural machines began in 1911. From 1927 the head office of the parent company was relocated from Neuss to Berlin before returning to Neuss after the end of the war. In 1937 the production of tractors started in the factory. During the 1950s the plant had up to 5000 employees. In 1965, the IH plants in Germany, England and France are merged into a manufacturing network. With the takeover of the parent company by Tenneco in 1985 , the German plant in Neuss belonged to CASE / Tenneco . In 1997 the plant in Neuss was closed and then demolished. Until 2012 there was an industrial wasteland here . In 2013 the site was rebuilt with the plant of the automotive supplier Pierburg .
