The II-VI Incorporated is an American manufacturer of II-VI compound semiconductors based in Pennsylvania. There are zinc selenide for infrared laser ( CO 2 laser ), yttrium vanadate (YVO 4 ) and Yttriumlithiumfluorid for data transmission via optical fiber , germanium for military infrared cameras, bismuth telluride for Peltier elements and high-precision ceramics (made of silicon carbide ) and metal matrix composites for liquid crystal displays , semiconductors and optics.

In 1971 the company began manufacturing cadmium telluride for CO 2 lasers

In 2012, II-VI took over LightWorks Optics, which manufactures infrared sensors for drones, rockets and fighter planes. In 2013 the HIGHYAG Lasertechnologie GmbH from Stahnsdorf was taken over.
