Saxonburg is a settlement ( borough ) in Butler County in the US state of Pennsylvania with over 1,500 inhabitants.
history
The place was founded in 1832 by some settlers around John August Roebling , the designer of the Brooklyn Bridge. In 1846 the borough was established.
economy
The headquarters of the semiconductor manufacturer II-VI Incorporated is located on the site of a former Nuclear Research Center.
Town twinning
The Borough of Saxonburg has been twinning with Mühlhausen / Thuringia , the birthplace of its founder JA Roebling , since May 23, 2008 .
