The IMI SR-99 is an Israeli sniper rifle that was developed in the mid-1990s by the Integrated Security Systems Group (ISSG) on behalf of Israel Military Industries .
The SR-99 is a modified IMI Galatz . Above all, weight was saved, and the fully adjustable shoulder rest and hand protection were made from CFRP . An adjustable handle and a height-adjustable earth spur attached to the shoulder rest were also attached. It is supplied as standard with an anti-heat streak tape attached over the barrel.
In contrast to the Galatz, the exterior of the rifle is completely black.
