Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica

The Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica ( INAF ; German National Institute for Astrophysics ) is the most important Italian research institution for astronomy and astrophysics , with a total of around 1200 employees. INAF was created in 2002 from previously independent observatories and from institutes of the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche . The seat is in Rome . The managing director is Nicolò D'Amico.
