ING Cup 2001/02

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ING Cup 2001/02 was the 33rd edition of the National List A cricket - Championship in Australia . The competition was held between October 7, 2001 and February 24, 2002 between six Australian first-class representations of the states. In the final, New South Wales prevailed against Queensland with 19 runs .

format

The six teams played in a group twice against each other team. There were four points for a win, two for a draw or no result and no point for a loss. A bonus point was awarded if, in one sense, one's own run number exceeded that of the opponent by 1.25 times, and another point if it was even more than twice the opponent's. Furthermore, it was possible that teams were deducted points if, for example, they played too slowly. The group first and second qualified for the final.
