INSPIRATA
The INSPIRATA (derived from lat .: inspirare "breathe") is a Leipziger project to promote math and science education for everyone with special attention to school groups.
prehistory
During the Science Summer 2008, the central event of the year of mathematics in 2008 , the idea originating from a Leipzig teacher couple was implemented. Help came from Leipzig University, the Saxon Education Agency and the Deutsche Telekom Foundation. In the run-up to this, schoolchildren and trainee teachers developed and created exhibits that were intended for subsequent use in INSPIRATA from the outset. In the further course, new partners could be won, including the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Natural Sciences. INSPIRATA started its regular operation at the beginning of September 2008. At the beginning of November 2008 the association "INSPIRATA - Center for Mathematical and Scientific Education eV" was founded. After several interim locations, a quarter was found in an office building at the Old Leipzig Trade Fair . The Leipzig mathematics teacher Ines Petzschler was awarded the 2011 ambassador prize of the MINT Future Creation Initiative for her participation in the founding of INSPIRATA .
Current
The new premises offer exhibition space and opportunities for a factually fanned out presentation of the exhibits as well as for additional offers such as workshops, teacher training, special events, etc. INSPIRATA is recognized as a partner of the holiday pass program of the city of Leipzig, in the professional orientation of the MINT-Individual program with the ciT GmbH Leipzig as well as for the education agency, the Federal Employment Agency, the Leipzig Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the BMW factory in Leipzig and others
