IT trans
IT-Trans (spelling: IT-TRANS) is an international conference and trade fair for intelligent solutions for public transport. It takes place every two years in the spring of the even years on the exhibition grounds in Karlsruhe.
History and main topics
IT-Trans was launched in 2008 by the International Association for Public Transport (UITP) in cooperation with the Karlsruhe Messe- und Kongress GmbH and was held for the first time. The first two events in 2008 and 2010 took place in the Karlsruhe Congress Center . In 2012, due to its growth, the event moved to the grounds of Messe Karlsruhe . As an event, IT-Trans plays an internationally leading role for public transport and is therefore the leading international trade fair for the industry. IT-Trans focuses in particular on passenger information systems , infotainment , fare management, smart cards, software, traffic management / intelligent traffic, fleet and vehicle management, security and communication technologies, and multimodal traffic .

Visitor target group and visitor structure
The visitor target group is defined by the senior management of public and private transport companies, the senior management of transport authorities and associations as well as authorities, vehicle manufacturers and representatives of municipalities, regions and states. Around 84 percent of the visitors play a decisive or influencing role in their company's purchasing or procurement decisions.
