I Heart Hiroshima is an indie rock band from Brisbane , Australia. Originally formed by Susie Patten, Matt Somers and Mel Ralph at a house party, Ralph left the band after a few shows to focus on their solo career. She was replaced by Cameron Hawes.
Band history
The band quickly made a name for themselves in Australia through tireless touring, not least through support slots for Conor Oberst , Cat Power , Clap Your Hands Say Yeah or Shonen Knife .
I Heart Hiroshima impress with their simple boy / girl alternating vocals and the interplay of guitars and drums, which are often reminiscent of Mission Of Burma, The Go Betweens or Life Without Buildings.
In summer 2010 the second album The Rip will be released in Europe after the debut Tuff Teff was only available in Australia and the UK.
