Ian Mune
Ian Barry Mune (* 1941 in Auckland ) is a New Zealand actor and director. Mune studied at Wesley College in Auckland.
Life
Ian Mune co-wrote and starred on Roger Donaldson 's first film Sleeping Dogs . He directed Came a Hot Friday with Billy T. James as the Tainui Kid and What Becomes of the Broken Hearted? , the sequel to The Last Warrior . The film won 9 of 13 nominations for the 1999 New Zealand Film Awards and remained Mune's greatest commercial success.
One of his best-known films is The End of the Golden Weather , a growing-up story based on the Bruce Mason and Mune-written play.
In 1994 Mune played Robert Muldoon in the television miniseries Fallout , which dealt with the end of the third government of the New Zealand National Party he led . He directed the original episodes of the short-lived television series Letter to Blanchy directed by David McPhail and Jon Gadsby . He has also appeared in numerous other New Zealand television films.
Mune was part of the extended directing team and played the role of Bonder in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring . He played Buster Keaton in the TV movie Lucy: The Lucille Ball Story .
In 1991 he was inducted into the Order of the British Empire for his services in film and theater . He is married to the writer Josie Mune.
