The Iapetus Nunatak is a 915  m high nunatak in the south of the West Antarctic Alexander I Island . It rises halfway between the Walton Mountains and the Staccato Peaks on the southwestern edge of the Satellite Snowfield .

The British Directorate of Overseas Surveys mapped it using satellite images from NASA . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1974 based on the naming of the Saturn glacier after the Saturn moon Iapetus .
