The Ibrahim-al-Ibrahim Mosque ( English Ibrahim-al-Ibrahim Mosque ; also known as King Fahd bin Abdulaziz al-Saud Mosque and Mosque of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques ) is a mosque on the southern tip of Gibraltar , on Europa Point . It lies at the foot of the monkey rock.

Establishment

The building was a gift from the Saudi Arabian King Fahd , cost 5 million pounds and after the laying of the foundation stone in 1995, the construction time was two years. The mosque was inaugurated on August 8, 1997.

It is the southernmost mosque in Europe as well as one of the largest mosques built in a non-Muslim country.

Building complex

The mosque complex also includes a school, library and lecture hall. It is the only mosque in Gibraltar to have been built as such, with a Muslim share of around 3.4% in the population.
