Ibrahim Aboubacar

Ibrahim Aboubacar (born February 1, 1965 in Fomboni ) is a French politician of the Parti socialiste . He was a member of the National Assembly from 2012 to 2017 .

After studying engineering at the École spéciale des travaux publics, du bâtiment et de l'industrie (ESTP) in Cachan , Aboubacar came to Mayotte in 1990 , where he held management positions in public administration in the fields of construction, urban planning and economic development. After two years of engagement in the local trade unions, Aboubacar switched to the Parti socialiste in 1992. In 1994 he was a founding member of CISMA-CFDT, an association of two trade unions in Mayotte, which spans eleven industries, including health and education.

From 1999 to 2004 Aboubacar was a consultant for the mahorian economic and social affairs, and from 2008 to 2012 he was a senior consultant for the municipal administration of Sada . In this role, he was also elected Vice-President of the General Council (since 2015: Départementrat ) of Mayotte.

In the parliamentary elections in 2012 , Aboubacar ran in the second constituency of the Mayotte department and was elected to the National Assembly with 54.95 percent of the vote in the second ballot. In 2017 he decided not to run again. His time as a Member of Parliament ended on June 20, 2017.

Ibrahim Aboubacar is married and has five children.
