The Ice Cats Kassel are the women's team of the ice hockey youth Kassel . They played in the 2007/08 season in the women’s state league Hessen and reached first place ahead of the women’s teams of SG Trier - Bitburg and RSC Darmstadt and became champions of Hessen.
The Ice Cats are trained by Fred Pottek, supervised by Simone Engel.
history
The women's ice hockey team was founded in 1983 under the ESG with seven women. In 1987 the team started as EC Kassel in the Landesliga Nord-Ost. They achieved their greatest success so far in the season from 1994 to 1996, in which they were promoted to the 2nd North Women's League and played there for two years. In 1997, the women's team was dissolved for the time being, until it returned to the Landesliga Hessen in 2007/08 as Ice Cats Kassel .
